SATYRICON: Russian Dates Announced
July 25, 2006Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have posted the following message on their official web site:
"At the tail end of Tour Diabolical which has already been announced, we will pay a visit to Russia for the first time. We won't be bringing any opening bands over to Russia as it is a fly-in. We very much look forward to this tour as it is our first in Europe since 2003. The festivals this summer have been amazing and have really left us lusting for more. The new material undoubtedly goes down extremely well live, we've experienced, and for this tour we also plan to bring forth some old songs that we have never played live before."
SATYRICON in Russia:
Oct. 27 – St. Petersburg, RUS - Club Port
Oct. 28 - Moscow, RUS - Club Tochka
As previously reported, SATYRICON are reissuing their 1999 album, "Rebel Extravaganza", today (July 25). The record was remixed and features three bonus tracks: "Nemesis Divina (Clean Version Mix)" and "Blessed From Below (Melancholy Oppression Longing)", as well as a cover of SARCOFAGO's "I.N.R.I."
SATYRICON's latest album, "Now, Diabolical", debuted at No. 2 on the national Norwegian chart and also charted in Sweden and Finland. The CD sold around 1,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release — around one-tenth of the total number of units (15,000) shifted by the band's last effort, "Volcano", which came out in the U.S. in 2004.
